This week’s Pretty Ordinary Friday is all about our trip to NYC! We had such a blast- as you may have seen on Instagram– but we wanted to show you some of the behind-the-scenes moments that made our trip so special! We admit it: this week’s Pretty Ordinary was pretty extra-ordinary!
Above “Before heading to NYC for the National Stationery Show, I made a stop in Chicago to attend Book Con! I held a mini-chalk art workshop in the Workman Publishing Booth. It was a lot of fun!” -Valerie
1. “This is a photo of the Keepsake Kitchen Diary on the award nominee’s table at NSS! I was so honored to have the book considered for Best Overall Product at the show and Best Product in the lifestyle category.” -Valerie
2. “Emily and I discovered the Juice Generation across the street from our hotel on the first day of NSS. We were hooked and ended up going everyday! The smoothies were amazing!” –Valerie
3. “Our last night in the city started with a dinner at the Bryant Park Grill and then a Broadway show! We saw “An American in Paris.” -Valerie
4. “I loved looking at all the metal quotes in the sidewalk leading up to the library! This one with dimensional coins especially struck me!” -Valerie
5. “This flower in Bryant Park was so stunning, I just had to take a picture of it! Does anyone know what kind of flower it is?” – Valerie
6. “We walked through Grand Central Station everyday to take the subway to NSS, and the view never got old! Even looking up, the chandeliers were amazing!” -Emily
7. “Valerie and I went to the 2016 Paper Party and had a blast meeting other artists and shop owners! At the party there was a corner where you could decorate a sticky note and add it to a wall! Here’s Val creating hers!” -Emily
8. “This was before we saw ‘An American in Paris.’ We ate a delicious dinner outdoors at Bryant Park Grill and the view was so beautiful! It really felt like springtime in the city!”
9. “It was a warm and sunny day on the day we left, so we treated ourselves to macarons and the park! These macarons are from the Macaron Café and they were delicious! The perfect way to end the trip!” -Emily
