The Fourth of July is nearly upon us – I don’t know about you, but I am already craving a grilled hamburger and some egg salad! As my tummy rumbled, thoughts of how the table might look (and not just the food part!) began to fill my head. After a few July 4th musings, the Lily & Val team came up with a fun and easy Fourth of July place setting idea to share with all of you.
Materials Needed:
- “Happy Sparkler Season” card by Lily & Val
- A Gold Sharpie
- Sparklers
- Wooden Cutlery (enough for your guests)
- Washi Tape (preferably in red, white, and blue!)
- Festive napkins (paper or if you’re feeling fancy, linen or cloth)
Personalizing Place Settings
Grab a “Happy Sparkler Season” card for each of your guests. Using a gold sharpie for extra pizazz, write your guests’ name on the left-hand side of the card. Take up as much space as you can and feel free to write a personal note below the name.
Take a few sparklers out of the package and bundle together. Use an array of washi tape to secure them in place. We brought out the gold sharpie again to add hand-drawn details surrounding the bundle of sparklers.
The Final Touch
Place your napkins and cutlery at each seat with your freshly-detailed sparkler card in the center. Now everyone will have a unique place setting at their chair and will know exactly where to get their sparklers when the sun goes down and it’s time to celebrate. We recommend keeping the lighters away from the table until the moment arrives for fireworks!
Happy July 4th, everyone! We hope you enjoy using our idea as your place settings for your gatherings over the long weekend. Be sure to snap a photo and tag us on Instagram if you do: @lilyandval!
