For this week’s Pretty Ordinary Friday #56, we’re documenting snapshots of our week. While our pictures may not be the prettiest or the most interesting, we enjoyed each instance and want to remember them! These are the behind-the-scenes, in-between moments – the small peeks that would otherwise be forgotten. 1. “Peonies are so beautiful, even when they are on their way out.” –Valerie
2. “A green smoothie pick-me-up. This one contained 1 banana, 2 small peaches, a big handful of spinach, a slice of fresh ginger, almond milk and ice!” –Valerie
3. “We have visitors on our deck! These mourning doves made a home in one of our planters. This is the second time they’ve been here this year! (I say “they” because I looked it up and mourning doves mate for life. The mother and father – we named them Harriet and Frank – have specific roles in caring for the nest and babies. How cute is that?!) I just can’t get over this little bird family. (Those that follow me on Instagram will know how obsessed I’ve been!)” -Valerie
4. “Trying new things and experimenting with a blue watercolor pattern! Scallops are one of my favorite details.” -Valerie
5. “This week my Mom celebrated her 60th birthday!! I loved spending the day with her (and my brother) to celebrate. Part of our day included a celebratory Starbucks!” -Valerie
6. “Over the weekend, I decided to meal plan on the deck with a big bowl of homemade guacamole. I used recipes out of my Keepsake Kitchen Diary, plus my other cookbook go-to’s!!” -Valerie
7. “My baby graduated from preschool this week! I gave her this card because I have sang this song to her since the day she was born…she already has the “You Are My Sunshine” print so this card is adding to the set! I’m so proud of her, but wish time would slow down!” -Maureen
8. “The team had so much fun celebrating Lily & Val’s 5th birthday this week in the office. I snuck this picture in before we devoured all of the delicious cupcakes!” -Maureen
9. “Somebody is investigating the box full of wonderful gifts the Lily & Val team gave me for the arrival of my baby boy. I don’t think I will run out of diapers anytime soon. Then, again…..” -Julie
